Big business Mistakes: Why Adidas rejected Michael Jordan years ago…sending him to Nike instead!

There are lots of mistakes made in the business world, just like anywhere else.  However, every once in a while, we get to hear about truly epic mistakes, that changed the landscape of entire industries, forever.  When Michael Jordan came into the NBA years ago, he was offered a contract to represent Nike shoes.  At the time he was a fan of Adidas, and so he went back to Adidas and said if you come anywhere close to the offer they gave me, I will sign with you Adidas instead of Nike.  In what seems an almost laughable mistake now, Adidas rejected Michael Jordan, because he wasn’t “tall enough”.  The rest as they say of course is history.  If you would like to enjoy this article yourself, here it is in its entirety.  Here’s to all of us not making the same mistake in judgement in our own businesses.
